Third Annual Darryl "Penasi" Fox Memorial Golf Tournament in Thunder Bay
(Thunder Bay, Ontario) Family and friends will gather at the Whitewater Golf and Country Club on Thursday, July 29th to raise money for cancer research.
The Darryl "Penasi" Fox Memorial Golf Classic is held each year in honour of Darryl Fox, an engineering student and Ojibway-Cree Anishnaabe from Bearskin Lake First Nation, who died of cancer in 2002 at the age of 24.
Funds raised through the tournament will go to Northern Cancer Research Foundation for cancer research and to bursary scholarships for First Nation students enrolled in an engineering program. To date this fundraising event has raised and provided Thunder Bay's Health Science Foundation a total of $10,000 and has contributed $3,000 for student bursaries.
