Thursday, March 21st 2013 11:06:26am

For Immediate Release

The Grow Greenstone Expo, hosted by the Greenstone Labour Market Working Group will be taking place at the Victoria Inn, on Monday and Tuesday (March 25-26, 2013). Featuring over 60 exhibitor booths and an impressive lineup of speakers and dignitaries, the sold out Grow Greenstone Expo is the region’s first business-to-business, workforce attraction expo to date. Offering both individuals and businesses the opportunity to learn and discover where to position themselves for success in the expanding mining sector.

The opening ceremonies will feature addresses by Member of Parliament and former Ontario Premier Bob Rae, Mayor of Greenstone Renald Beaulieu, Ring of Fire Coordinator Dr. Christine Kaszycki, and Matawa Ring of Fire Coordinator Raymond Ferris. Monday evening during the Gala Dinner, The Grow Greenstone Growth Plan will be unveiled and Former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Ovide Mercredi will be the keynote speaker.

The event is open to the public and free to attend. Immediately following the opening ceremonies and press conference, the exhibitor booths will open and the presentations begin. Monday’s highlight presentation is the Introduction to Contract Readiness presented by Suzanne Ebelher from MNP. This presentation is a concentrated version of a 2-day session designed to teach businesses how to fit into the mining supply chain.

Tuesday kicks off with a very informative session. Nick Sanders, President of the Fort McMurray Chamber of Commerce will share the trials and tribulations that the regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Northern Alberta experienced through its own explosive growth.

A schedule of events, complete with speaker summaries and bios is available online at www.growgreenstoneexpo.com

The event is open to the public and business owners, job seekers and anyone interested in the Ring of Fire. Regional mining sector developers are encouraged to attend.
